Florida's Grapefruit League is home to Major League Baseball's Pre-Season.

Those 33 days of the 2012 Florida Spring Training season sure flew by quick, didn't they?  During that glorious month of March, plenty of things happened on the way to the 2012 Major League season.  It began on March 3 with the opening of JetBlue Park in Fort Myers and concluded with a pair of games at the new Marlins Park in Miami.

For the total of 233 games played, with only three games cancelled due to rain, more than 1.6 million baseball fans attended Major League Baseball Spring Training Games in Florida.  Isn't it funny how some folks say it always rains in Florida and there have only been six spring training games rained out over the last two years.

Besides total attendance topping 1.6 million in total attendance, a new per game average attendance record was set.  Thanks to all of the fans who attended those 233 games in the 14 locations.  It sure was a good time this year.

As in previous years, baseball fans flocked to Florida to see games with a 1PM start time, players in with uniform numbers well above 50 who one day may be a team superstar and the chance to talk baseball and hopes for the upcoming season with other eager fans.

Even though Major League Baseball's regular season is now in play, feel free to check in to find out about the off-season happenings in the 14 Florida Spring Training stadiums and other news and notes going on in the Florida Grapefruit League.  Again, thanks for your support once again in 2012 and we hope to see you again soon in the land where Hope Springs Eternal each March in venues throughout the Sunshine State.

Baseball and Florida in March are a Perfect Pair!
